Empress Estate Wedding Day | Aly & Alex
Aly and Alex’s wedding at The Empress Estate in Woodland, Washington was a beautiful celebration filled with family, Philippine traditions, plenty of happy tears and one very exciting surprise!
The Empress is a gorgeous Pacific Northwest wedding venue near Portland and Vancouver, with elegant indoor spaces, beautiful outdoor scenery and plenty of opportunities for wedding portraits. For Aly and Alex, the setting was the perfect backdrop for their romantic pink and cream wedding day.
Alex started the morning with his family, including his grandfather, who traveled all the way to Oregon to celebrate with him. He looked incredible in a traditional Philippine wedding shirt, and the pride and happiness on his face were impossible to miss.
Meanwhile, Aly and her bridesmaids got ready in the bridal suite before she stepped into a stunning, sparkly Maggie Sottero ballgown. After an emotional first look and private vows, we explored the property for portraits before the ceremony.
Their ceremony incorporated meaningful Philippine traditions, including the coins, veil and cord, creating a beautiful connection to Alex’s heritage. After exchanging vows and their first kiss, Aly and Alex celebrated during cocktail hour with their family and friends before heading into the elegant Empress reception space.
Then came the surprise of the night. During the reception, Alex announced that he and Aly were expecting a baby! The room immediately erupted in hugs, happy tears, and congratulations.
We snuck away for sunset portraits afterward, making the most of Aly’s incredible cathedral-length veil as the sky turned pink over the valley. The evening ended with dancing, sparklers, and the newlyweds heading into an exciting new chapter together.
